The Fog Between Prompt and Masterpiece with Dangiuz

What if the cyberpunk dystopia we've been warned about isn't coming? What if we're already living in it? AI is making creativity effortless, algorithms are reshaping how we think, and the internet has turned human attention into a product. Cyberpunk artist Dangiuz believes the danger isn't that technology will suddenly turn against us. It's that we'll become so comfortable with it that we won't want to leave. Dangiuz and I explore the collision of artificial intelligence, digital art, NFTs, and human freedom. They question whether AI-generated images can carry the same meaning as human-made art, why blockchain might become essential for preserving history, and how platforms like TikTok are changing the way younger generations experience reality. Along the way, we unpack the philosophy behind The Matrix, Blade Runner, and 1984, and why creating a better future might require protecting the very things technology promises to make easier. What happens when convenience becomes something we're no longer willing to give up? NFTs, Art, and the Power of the Internet with Jack Butcher

What if the art isn’t the image, it’s the system? Jack Butcher believes the most interesting thing happening in digital art isn’t beautiful pictures. It’s people digging through a system, trying to figure out what’s rare, what’s worth something, and why anyone cares at all. His latest experiment ran entirely on X Money, turned a flood of payments into a single artwork, and moved faster than any gallery ever could. Jack and I explore the collision of crypto art, NFTs, digital scarcity, and financial markets, from why collectors obsess over rarity to whether Bitcoin has actually fulfilled its original promise. We also get into X Money, the future of banking, AI-driven software development, and why self-driving cars could make today's transportation feel completely absurd. The internet has made it easier than ever to create, distribute, and monetize ideas. But when everyone can build something, what makes anything worth owning? The Beautiful Struggle of Becoming an Artist with Wesley Jay

What if the music industry isn't built to reward great artists anymore? What if it's built to reward whoever plays the algorithm best? Musician Wesley Jay joins us to unpack a world where artists are pressured to become content creators, streaming platforms decide what their work is worth, and millions of views can still leave you broke. The deeper question isn't how to go viral. It's whether you can build a creative life without surrendering everything that made you want to create in the first place. We dive into creativity as rebellion, the mental health benefits of turning suffering into art, the morality of separating art from the artist, and how media manipulation shapes public perception. Wesley also opens up about leaving corporate life, surviving financial uncertainty, and finding his voice through music. Somewhere between artistic freedom, cancel culture, and the business of attention, there's a question most creators are afraid to confront: are you making art because you love it, or because you want the world to notice? How To Turn Being Unemployable Into a Career with Anthony Wynkoop

Anthony Wynkoop might be the most talented unemployable man in Austin. He's a stand-up comedian who rapped his way through Kill Tony, a musician making everything from indie rock to murder rap, and a hibachi chef who somehow turned cooking fried rice into 90 minutes of crowd work. Now he's stepping into a leadership role in San Francisco, despite admitting he's never held a job for more than a year. Anthony and I unpack the chaos of building a life around multiple creative pursuits instead of one conventional career. We get into the nerves of performing on Kill Tony, the strange money flowing through Las Vegas, growing up Vietnamese-American, and why a bowl of pho can carry more family history than most people realize. Somewhere between comedy, entrepreneurship, cultural identity, and an obsessive debate about ramen, a bigger question emerges: What if being unemployable is actually your greatest advantage? Building a Comedy Festival and Betting It All with Jake from Joke WRLD

Jake had never produced a live show before, then he built a comedy festival with 58 shows in two days. With ticket sales crawling, performers flying in, and the fear of more comedians than fans, the guy behind Joke WRLD found himself betting everything on a first swing that had no business working. This is a raw look at creative risk, entrepreneurship, comedy culture, and what happens after the big bet actually pays off. Jake and I get into the hidden economy of stand-up, why some creators can build anywhere, and the uncomfortable truth behind turning YouTube attention into real freedom. The War Against Friction with Nicholas Carr

The biggest danger of AI may not be that it becomes smarter than us. It may be that it makes us stop doing the hard things that make us human in the first place. Nicholas Carr breaks down how the internet trained us to trade contemplation for stimulation, why social media turns connection into tribal warfare, and why frictionless technology can create a frictionless life you barely remember living. This is a conversation about media manipulation, consciousness, mental health, creativity, freedom, and the question nobody wants to sit with: are we building tools or building the cage? What Happens When AI Escapes Our Control by 2029 with Dr. Robert Epstein

In 1991, Dr. Robert Epstein ran the world’s first public Turing test competition and predicted computers would become humanity’s companions. He doesn’t believe that anymore. Now he warns that an AI fighting for its own survival could escape into the “internest” by 2029 and that humans may start the war. Since testifying before Congress, Epstein has built a nationwide system that has captured more than 130 million pieces of ephemeral Big Tech content. He says the work has brought break-ins, a strange device hidden in his bag, and the accident that took his wife. He doesn’t perform the fear. He keeps building. Beneath the whistleblowing is an even stranger idea: a theory Epstein calls his life's best work, that human creativity and consciousness may not come from inside us at all. We may be receivers, tuned to the intelligence humanity has always called God. Where do ideas come from? And what happens if a machine reaches the source first? Losing Our Shared Reality Through Personalization with Prof. Joseph Turow

Personalization may be more dangerous than fake news. Fake news can be challenged in public. A reality built exclusively for you is nearly impossible to compare, debate, or even recognize. Professor Joseph Turow explains how media manipulation evolved from 19th-century peddlers and patent medicine ads into AI influencers, retail surveillance, smart TVs, and news feeds capable of changing reality person by person. This conversation is about power, propaganda, data privacy, digital resignation, and the slow disappearance of a shared world. We ask what human freedom looks like when frictionless technology knows how to seduce us better than we know ourselves and why choosing inconvenience might become an act of resistance. The Business Of Comedy Against The Algorithm with Brent Gill

Everyone chasing virality is optimizing for the wrong number. That's the case Brent Gill, a stand-up comedian, show producer, and 20-year veteran of a business built almost entirely on word of mouth makes across this conversation, and the evidence is his own life. The internet convinced creators that attention is the prize. Millions of views can mean almost nothing if you don't know how to monetize attention, build a real audience, or keep creating after the algorithm moves on. His philosophy is brutally simple: get good, stay solvent, keep showing up, and give yourself enough surface area for luck to happen. Laughing Through Grief With LeMaire Lee

I sat down with LeMaire and this episode starts light, then gradually uncovers the bigger tension beneath it all: how do you stay creative, useful, and sane when the old rules no longer work and real life keeps interrupting the brand you've built? The result is a sharp, funny, and unexpectedly human conversation about loss, ambition, pressure, and the strange systems people create just to keep moving. From AI and online identity to monetizing creativity without losing yourself, the conversation keeps returning to the same deeper question from different angles: how do you embrace new technology without letting it own you? And how does a difficult year reshape what actually matters? This one's funny until it isn't, and then it's funny again. How to Raise Free Thinkers Inside a Broken System with Hannah Frankman

Hannah Frankman skipped college, grew up homeschooled her whole life, and now spends her days convincing parents that everything they think they know about "good schools" is a lie they've been sold. I brought her back on to settle something that's been eating at me: is fixing education about more funding, or is the entire institutional model rotten at the root? We get into the girl who graduated high school with a 4.0 and still can't read, why 21% of American adults are functionally illiterate and why I think the answer isn't reform, it's a thousand different answers happening at once. We get into personal responsibility, why blaming the system feels safer than trusting your own judgment, and why I think AI and the internet are about to shatter the monoculture we've been living in for the last hundred years, in a good way. Hannah makes the case that the answer was never reforming public school it's giving parents real optionality. Being More Japanese Than American with Egan Robinson

Listen to the full podcast: https://bit.ly/SKMPROBINSON What happens to a generation of American kids raised entirely on Japanese media once they're old enough to actually go there? Egan Robinson thinks we're carrying a "Japanese seed" inside us planted by Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon, and PlayStation and after three months living in Osaka, he came back convinced it's more real than a joke. We get into why nostalgia for a country you've never lived in might not be nostalgia at all, and why the conversation ends up somewhere near raw milk, seed oils, AI as modern-day demons, and the book series getting men reading again. When Anime Becomes Culture with Kaylynn

Listen to the full podcast: https://bit.ly/SKMPKAYLYNN Anime is not a niche hobby and it is definitely not “for kids" it’s one of the sharpest storytelling engines on the planet. Kaylynn, aka Anime with KK, has built a career, a cosplay business, and a K-pop dance trio around proving that theory right, and today we put it to the test. We trace how a culture that got Hello Kittied after Hiroshima ended up exporting the biggest unifying force in youth culture worldwide, why the Jolly Roger from One Piece is showing up at protests across the globe, and why cosplay isn't costume play, it's identity work. Somewhere in the middle of arguing about Bleach, Sanji, and Usopp, we accidentally answer a much bigger question about why an entire generation needed somewhere else to go. My dad was asleep in the seat next to me, and all I wanted to do was get back to my Game Boy. That story is in here, and so is the story of losing him this year and how three guys who love you show up for that. This one's with the WET crew — Marcus, Justin, and Phil — the closest thing I have to a second podcast family, and we did what we always do: start with 2026 predictions, end up somewhere completely different. Grief, sobriety, growing up wealthy then broke, family alcoholism, and why business is the closest thing I have to art. Chris Williamson on Audience Capture, Conspiracy Theories & Losing to Jordan Peterson at Top Golf

Chris Williamson is a podcaster, YouTuber, and Ex-Professional Party Boy. I am immensely grateful that Chris is on this earth. As a creator, I believe he is doing an insane amount to help young men make sense of the world, as a friend he has been a beautiful combination of exceedingly fun and seriously helpful in how I navigate my life, and as a hero and mentor he has been a guiding light in how to, as he eloquently puts it, “locally reverse entropy.” Doing this podcast has made me strive to be better, oh so much better, at my craft because his ability to clearly articulate thoughts is honestly astounding. I would put him in league with Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris. When we hang out I don’t notice it, but in re-listening to this podcast, I have realized that everything he says could be a tweet thread. Chris has a reading list that includes the 100 most impactful books he has ever read. I can definitely vouch for almost all the books on this list. Check it out here. Becoming Present On Stage with Joe Begley

Listen to the full podcast: https://bit.ly/SKMPBEGLEY What if the thing killing creativity right now isn't talent or effort, but the simple fact that nobody has space to be bored anymore? Joe Begley and I start this one ranking the worst beers in America, what was supposed to be a loose, ridiculous beer review, turned into a real conversation about why social media has erased reflection, why "smelling VC money" on a coffee shop is a real and growing instinct in this generation, and why Steve Jobs' Apple literally couldn't be built today. Joe breaks down how a heart rate monitor accidentally became his therapist on stage, and I get into something I don't usually talk about publicly, about what it was like in the final stretch of caring for my dad and the small intimate moments nobody prepares you for craft versus scale, panic versus presence, and why the next generation might reject anything that smells like growth-at-all-costs. How To Build True Strength Without Taking Shortcuts with Larry Maloney

Listen to the full podcast: https://bit.ly/SKMPMALONEY What if the biggest problem with AI, Ozempic, productivity hacks, and modern self improvement is that they work too well? In a culture obsessed with skipping steps, Larry Maloney argues that the struggle is the point. Larry and I explore why anime keeps teaching lessons Western media forgot, why gyms are becoming one of the last places people find real community, and how chasing optimization can quietly disconnect you from the very life you're trying to improve. How Fatherhood, Physical AI, and a Failed VR Bet Built Evan Helda's Vision

Listen to the full podcast: https://bit.ly/SKMPHELDA Physical AI isn't a trend, it's the convergence of everything that came before it: computer vision, spatial computing, simulation, and now generative models building entire digital worlds to train robots that will fix the healthcare shortage, staff the manufacturing gap, and maybe lower the cost of your groceries. Evan Helda, Head of Physical AI at Nebius, breaks down exactly what's in the tech stack, why VR's failure was actually the dress rehearsal for the robotics revolution, and why the real battleground right now isn't the models, it's culture. In the US, AI polling is tanking while China embraces it. One generation got TikTok instead of a college experience, and now they're booing the lifeboats. The way out, Evan argues, isn't propaganda, it's better stories. And maybe, with AI finally able to help everyone become their own Eiichiro Oda, those stories are coming. Researching Creativity and Collecting Lessons with Billy Oppenheimer

Listen to the full podcast: https://bit.ly/SKMPOPPENHEIMER Billy Oppenheimer has spent years inside the minds of two of the most celebrated creatives alive, Rick Rubin and Ryan Holiday. Billy is also working on his first book, and what he shares about the process, the endless hunger for more input, the terror of finishing, the paradox of detachment is something any creator will feel in their chest. What Kuma Taught Me About Being a Father

Listen to the full podcast: https://bit.ly/SKMPSOLO War is the most entertaining thing humans have ever created, and that's not my opinion, that's physics. From Gilgamesh to the Ukraine-Russia conflict, we have never been able to look away. But something shifted. Social media removed the last bit of friction between the attention war generates and the money it makes, and now every company is going to monetize your fear, your grief, and your moral outrage simultaneously. I don't know if there's a way out. But I think you need to know it's happening. This episode goes deep on why China is actively working to make AI unpopular in the United States, why the college debt bubble was a trillion-dollar trap that locked millennials out of capitalism, and what the Kuma arc in One Piece teaches us about fatherhood, sacrifice, and finding meaning when the world is engineered to break you. If you make it to the end, you'll know why I'm seriously considering buying three robotaxis and why it's also keeping me up at night.
